This painting was inspired by a sketch I did that happened to resemble a person dancing, as if performing a sort of ballet. While there is nothing representational in the painting, I consciously tried to create a sense of human movement in it. This painting was created simultaneously with "Dancer 2" and can be displayed with that painting as a diptych or by itself.

The materials used are acrylic paint, acrylic paint marker, and charcoal. The painting is coated with a satin varnish.

The work is composed on a 24" x 24" x 2.5" cradled wood panel. The sides are painted black and the back is signed, titled, dated, and wired for hanging. A certificate of authenticity is included.
