As part of my "Intersections" series, these pieces focus on abstracting the human form through mark-making and evoking emotion through the use of color. This item is a print/original hybrid! I start by creating a handmade linocut print with acrylic paint on 90-lb. cold press watercolor paper. I then add hand marking and sometimes hand painting to finish the piece. In this series, the colored shapes and heavy black areas are printed, whereas the thinner line work, paint splatters, and other marks are done by hand with acrylic paint, marker, or ballpoint pen. While I try to place the hand-marks in the same location on each piece, I am just visually approximating this so each piece in the edition will be noticeably different from the others! The print is part of a limited edition of 100. It is signed in the front lower right corner and has the serial number in the front lower left corner. The print is matted in a custom cut white mat and is available framed or unframed. The frame is a quality wood model with clean lines (see photo), available in white, black or natural wood. It will be wired for hanging. The frame glazing is acrylic.
