Laser Study #1
A transparent box-like form floats in a cream-colored plane. Below it we notice a rectangular shadow... or maybe a portal of some sort? Moving outward from the portal we are forced to dodge some imposing beams composed of a pinkish substance - whatever it is we are wary of getting too close, especially since we notice a dark, ashy spot nearby. Perhaps this is the charred remains of an unfortunate wanderer who crossed paths with a beam. It's also entirely possible, though, that this is some form of dark matter immune to the beams. It's mesmerizing really, and we can scarcely look away until we are forced to do so by the red-green baton imposing order on the whole scene.
The work is made on 80-lb. cream-colored acid-free paper. Materials used are charcoal, marker, colored pencil, and chalk pastel. It is sprayed with a coat of fixative to prevent smudging, but careful handling is encouraged. The work is signed in the front lower right corner. The back is signed, dated, and titled. This item can be purchased as the artwork only, matted, or matted and framed. The mat is custom cut. The frame is an elegant, quality black wooden frame with clean lines (see photos). The glazing is acrylic. The back of the frame will be wired for hanging.
