Pyramid Scheme 36
Pyramid Scheme 36
My "Pyramid Scheme" series continues with this painting on paper, "Pyramid Scheme 36".
Subject Matter:
Our eye is drawn first to two dark, smoky forms in the center of the image: a pyramid and an octahedron (double pyramid). Are these two objects merely travelling together, or are they in the process of merging into a new form? Surrounding them we find a menagerie of other forms: parallelograms, cubes, a square slab, some sort of folding object, and an angular mouth. All this is framed by a diamond shape. A dark pyramid watches from the bottom right, and a wash of green brings mystical energy.
This item is a work on high-quality Canson Mi Teintes cream-colored paper made with acrylic paint, charcoal, marker, and colored pencil. Note from the photos that the image is rendered on the dimpled side of the paper for added texture. The image dimensions are 16x20 inches. The paper size is 18x24 inches. There is a border drawn in pencil to mark the image area for matting. The back of the work is signed, dated, and titled.
